SVP & Head of Communications, Insurance Information Institute
With more than 16 years of experience in developing strategies that expand corporate footprints, increase brand awareness, and boost engagement with key stakeholders, Kristin Palmer is Senior Vice President and Head of Communications at the Insurance Information Institute in New York City.
Prior to joining the I.I.I, Kristin was Vice President of Media Relations for AARP, the nation’s largest nonprofit, where she successfully led media relations and outreach for AARP’s consumer-facing products and initiatives, digital platforms, brand campaigns, multicultural engagement, and media properties, including AARP The Magazine. Previously, she was Director of Public Affairs for the child care advocacy group Child Care Aware of America® and served as Senior Communications Manager for the Honorable Mayor Shirley Franklin in the City of Atlanta where she managed the daily operations of the Mayor's Office of Marketing and Communications. Kristin also managed communications for the National Association of Black Journalists (NABJ) and the Association of Public Television Stations.
She began her career working for Brodeur Partners, a global communications firm, and The Kamber Group, a boutique creative agency in Washington, D.C.
Kristin is a graduate of James Madison University and currently resides in Northern Virginia with her husband and two young boys.
